Upgrading ford f150 stereo3/29/2024 If no DSP and using crossovers, same principle except audio in to amp, amp to crossover, crossover to respective speaker. Then amp to other connector for the speaker outs. Want to install a new radio into your F-150 or F Series Truck Along with a new radio comes many new features like Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but we want to. I would use the one of the connectors to get audio in to the DSP. You can actually get L and R input from one side and all speaker wiring on the other. With the sony system, your factory speaker wires are right by the amp so easy to tie into with these. Or the way I would actually do it (and the way I kind of did): Kickey Key 180.4 if you just want a good auto tune that is easy to do. Go Pac amp pro (or use the other side of the adapter linked below and forscan changes) to one of the two belowĭayton DSP 408 to amp of your choice if you really want to tune it or have DHM tune it remotely (that route would be great!) The DSR1 has quite a few connectivity issues.even for people that work for Rockford. It has better quality and not as many issues. So, do I add that DSP and a new amp and retain all the factory wiring? Or will I need to run new speaker wires and new power to the amp?I'd go with the pac amp pro personally. Or if there is a better subwoofer that fits in the factory location, I might want to upgrade that as well.ĭo you recommend the MAESTRO AR or the MAESTRO DSR1? I was looking at the AR route using the Kenwood XR600-6DSP. ![]() I was thinking of upgrading the center, front, and rear speakers and leaving the stock sub and amp. For under $750, what upgrades would you recommend? I have used Infinity speakers in the past and quite liked them. That thing hits good enough for me nowadays. I’d love to be able to throw in my little jl audio 8 micro sub. From what I’ve read on the ICE f150 forum, it’s a pain. The bass rolls off heavily at anything above the lowest of volumes. However, sometimes I do like to listen to some good piano rock or classic rock when driving. I too am disappointed in the 8 speaker B and O system. Aftermarket F150 speakers are one of the best bang-for-your-buck audio system upgrades you can make, and are easy to install in your F150s doors. I mostly listen to audiobooks while driving. The good news is that we here at Stage have more than a few Ford F150 Speaker Upgrades that can get you the sound quality you need to really enjoy your F150s audio system. How does the Sony compare? If worse, I would like to do some mild upgrades to get better audio. We have a 2018 Expedition with the B&O system and I am quite happy with that. Is the 2017 system basically the same as different years? If so, which years so I can do some more searching or if anyone has some good threads I would appreciate links. ![]() While searching, I am having a hard time finding much info. I have done a lot of searching and see posts of people referring to the upgrade options for this radio being talked to death on this forum. Im about to purchase a 2017 Lariat with the Sony stereo in the 502a package (Audio System from Sony® with HD Radio,™ single-CD player, 10 speakers and subwoofer) and I am waiting for it to be delivered.
